About Flanagan Vineyards

Photo of Flanagan Family

Flanagan Vineyards sits at 1200 ft. elevation on the south and southwest facing slopes of Bennett Ridge and has 16 acres of vines planted. The soils are rocky volcanic cobbles with excellent drainage and the vines were planted in 2001 and 2002 on 6 x 4 spacing. There are 2 small blocks planted on 3x3 spacing.

Balance starts in the vineyard. We farm sustainably with year round cover crops, no tilling of the soils, and hand work on the vines. We have had the great fortune to create this vineyard from site selection to planting. By pairing flavorful low yielding clones and with low vigor disease resistant rootstocks, we produce small crops of intensely concentrated fruit. We vinify a great number of small lots separately so that we learn about each block each year and so that we have a large number of options in crafting our final blend.

Varietals by acres:

  • Cabernet 11,
  • Merlot 1.5,
  • Petit Verdot 1.0,
  • Syrah 2.5
