The 2018 Flanagan Beauty of Three Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast offers an expressive nose of orange blossom, and black tea. On the palate the wine has very fine tannins, racy acidity, and displays pretty red plum and currant fruits along with a compelling black truffle note.
The key to producing top flight Pinot Noir is the site. The site that was the source for this wine has the right climate and soils to produce great Pinot Noir. The wine making is focused on balance and allowing the site and the vintage to express themselves. The result is a lovely wine that is delightful on its own but also excellent with a meal.
Vineyard Notes
2018 is our first vintage of Beauty of Three Pinot Noir. The 2018 vintage was a typical Sonoma County growing season. . .except for the unusually large crop. The Pinot Noir crop was about 30% larger than 2017. Some cooler sites struggled to ripen fruit but our vineyard sites all did well in 2018. The grapes for this wine were sourced from a top vineyard in the Petaluma Gap area of the Sonoma Coast.
