The 2006 vintage was wonderful for us and produced a profound, complex wine that is distinctive for its ripeness and suppleness. I have believed from the beginning that Philippe’s tremendous talent for creating balanced, healthy wines, coupled with our extreme hillside site, would produce an exceptional result. And so it has. When I tasted this wine with Robert Parker from barrel in October of 2008 his first comment was, “tremendous sweet, ripe tannins”. The wine continues to present as structured and yet very approachable. Sommeliers love it because it is great straight out of the bottle.
